Melodie Hallett

Melodie Hallett is a Data Mining Specialist, Statistical Consultant and former Educator. She also is a licensed insurance agent, since 2007, and a notary. She received her M.S. in Statistics from Miami University and her Ph.D. in Computational Science with an emphasis in Statistics from Claremont University, jointly with SDSU. Her dissertation focused on creating and applying novel data mining techniques, particularly random forest models, to correlated survival data. Melodie taught at SDSU from 2001 to 2021, focusing on courses in Statistics, Data Mining, SAS, SAS for Econometrics and SPSS. She has published a course reader for Statistics using SPSS. She has also worked as an expert witness in statistics and data mining for various attorneys and class action lawsuits. She has over 20 years experience as a statistical consultant working with companies including Proctor & Gamble, Blackboard and HP on a variety of analysis including sales prediction models, marketing mix models, customer segmentation, and pricing lift models.
