Alba Jimenez Pacheco has extensive experience in academic research and education. Currently serving as a Postdoctoral Researcher at CABIMER since December 2015, Alba works in the Advanced Therapies in Neuroprotection & Immune Regulation Laboratory under David Pozo, focusing on the immune regulation of the purinergic receptor P2X7 related to Tr1 differentiation in Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis. Previously, Alba was a Biology and Chemistry Demonstrator at the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland from August 2011 to May 2015, assisting first-year medical students in their laboratory studies while also completing a PhD under David Henshall's mentorship. Additionally, Alba contributed as a PhD student in Maria Teresa Miras Portugal's research group at Universidad Complutense de Madrid from September 2013 to January 2014. Educational qualifications include a Doctor of Philosophy in Neuroscience from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, a Bachelor's Degree from Charles University, and a Doctor of Philosophy in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
