Following this, they pursued a Master's degree in Business Administration and Management, General from the University of South Carolina, graduating in 2009.

In 2002, Vernon Bachmann also attended the Nuclear Power School at the Naval Nuclear Power Training Command (NNPTC), where they completed the Engineering Officer of the Watch program.
