Sam Permutt has a diverse work experience. Sam began their career in 2012 as a Federal Judicial Law Clerk at the U.S. Court of International Trade. From 2014 to 2016, they worked as a Development Executive at UJA-Federation of New York. In 2016, they became an Adjunct Professor at Berkeley College, teaching Law & Humanities. Sam then joined Express Trade Capital, Inc. in 2017 as an Associate General Counsel. In 2019, they transitioned to Cain International, starting as a Vice President, Legal, and later becoming Senior Vice President, Legal in 2022.
Sam Permutt earned a Bachelor's degree in History (Phi Beta Kappa) from The Johns Hopkins University between 2000 and 2004. Later, between 2007 and 2009, they obtained a Master's degree in Near and Middle Eastern Studies from the University of Chicago. In 2009-2012, Sam pursued a Doctor of Law (J.D.) degree in International Law and Legal Studies at the Cardozo School of Law, where they were a member of the Order of the Coif.
