Deepak Puri

Deepak Puri is the Director of Technology Business Management at CAIS. Prior to CAIS, they served as the Head of Business Management & Planning - Technology at State Street from February 2021 to September 2021. In this role, they were responsible for driving financial governance for BCIO group, including annual planning cycle (financial ledger & portfolio view), demand management & business interaction, deep dive reviews with CIO & technology heads, workforce management and monthly functional performance analytics. Deepak also owned, as product head, all implementations / improvements in the Project & Portfolio Management tool impacting portfolio and financial construct. Puri served as the central point for BCIO group delivery highlights and metrics for executive forums & reporting and led the Cross Product Technology PMO activities. Deepak was also responsible for communication channel lead, covering monthly newsletter & town halls, and group-wide coordination of HR activities (talent rating, restructuring impact, HR metrics).

Puri served as the Head of FP&A and Business Management, Technology at JPMorgan Chase & Co. from November 2017 to February 2021. In this role, they were responsible for leading a team that provided oversight and analysis of technology expenses across JPMC’s Corporate & Investment Bank (CIB) and Consumer & Community Banking (CCB). Deepak also managed a technology cost optimization program that achieved over $1B in run-rate expense reductions through a mix of headcount reduction, process improvements and application rationalization.

Puri began their career at Barclays in January 2007 where they served as the Head of Finance, Business Management and Cost Programs, IB Technology. In this role

Deepak Puri has a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from the National University of Singapore with a concentration in finance and marketing. Deepak also has a Bachelors of Commerce from Shri Ram College of Commerce with a concentration in business, accounting, and commerce. Deepak is also a Chartered Accountant from The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India with a financial accounting focus. Finally, they attended Mount St. Mary's School New Delhi for high school where they studied commerce.

Their manager is Shane Williams, Chief Technology and Product Officer. Deepak Puri works with George Davies - Head, Data, Mark Evans - Managing Director, Platform & Operations Technology.
