Pedro Silva

Pedro Silva has extensive experience in the mining industry, with roles at various companies throughout their career. Pedro started their career in 1993 as a Geologist at Compañía Minera Amax Guanaco - Amax Gold, where they were responsible for production control and exploration activities. Pedro then joined Compañía Minera Lomas Bayas - Westmin as a Geologist, where they participated in the startup of production sectors and was involved in sampling and ore control.

In 1998, Pedro moved to Barrick Gold Corporation, where they held several roles, including Exploration Geologist, Project Geologist, and Jefe Geología at the Pascua Lama project. Pedro was responsible for developing geological knowledge, resource evaluation, and providing support to construction management.

In 2009, Pedro joined Kinross Gold Corporation as Exploration Manager. Pedro led exploration activities in the La Coipa District, managing a team of 50 people and a budget of over $5 million. Pedro also served as the Director of Exploration in Mauritania, overseeing multinational exploration activities and managing an annual budget of over $70 million.

In 2017, Pedro joined Newmont Corporation as the Chile Exploration Manager, responsible for managing exploration activities and resources. Pedro later became the Geology and Exploration Manager at the Casale-Caspiche Projects.

Currently, Pedro is employed at Calibre Mining Corporation as the VP Exploration in Nicaragua. Pedro previously held the role of Exploration Director in Nicaragua and Senior Exploration Manager in the Pacific Region.

Overall, Pedro Silva has demonstrated expertise in exploration management, resource evaluation, geological modeling, and team leadership throughout their career in the mining industry.

Pedro Silva attended Universidad Católica del Norte from 1986 to 1992, where they obtained a degree in Geología. Pedro then pursued further education at Universidad de Chile from 2007 to 2008, completing a Diplomado in Economía de Minerales.
