Amanda Johnson is a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice, a position held since July 2017. Prior to this role, Amanda served as a U.S. Climate and Energy Legal Fellow and Staff Attorney at the Environmental Defense Fund from October 2014 to June 2017. Amanda gained initial legal experience as a Law Clerk at Distributed Sun LLC in early 2014 and completed an Honors Law Clerk internship at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, where involvement in the Suspension and Debarment Program included researching and drafting legal documents. Additionally, Amanda externed for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Wistrich at the United States District Court for the Central District of California. Amanda earned a Juris Doctor from The George Washington University Law School and holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from UC Santa Barbara.
