Brett Kingsbury

Deputy Attorney General

Brett Kingsbury is an experienced attorney currently serving as a Deputy Attorney General in the Licensing Section of the California Department of Justice since June 2010. Previously, Brett worked as a Litigation Associate at Cooley LLP from September 2006 to May 2010 and gained valuable judicial experience as a Judicial Clerk to the Honorable Neil Wake in the United States District Court for the District of Arizona from August 2005 to August 2006. Brett's early legal experience includes internships at the Legal Aid Society, Federal Defender Division, Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, and the United States District Court for the Southern District of New York. Brett holds a Juris Doctorate from Columbia Law School (2002-2005) and dual degrees in Business Administration (Accounting) and Spanish Language/Literature from Washington University in St. Louis (1995-2000).
