Carolyn Widman has extensive legal experience, currently serving as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice since August 2023. Prior to this role, Widman worked as an Attorney Advisor at the U.S. Department of Justice from September 2019 to August 2022, where responsibilities included legal research and providing technical assistance to Immigration Judges. Legal internships at various organizations, including the Frank C. Newman International Human Rights Law Clinic and the Immigrant Legal Resource Center, provided opportunities to conduct research on immigration issues and advocate for the rights of children and vulnerable populations. Carolyn Widman earned a Juris Doctor from the University of San Francisco School of Law in 2019 and a Bachelor of Arts in International Studies from the University of San Francisco in 2014.
