Charles S. Lee

Charles S. Lee is an experienced attorney currently serving as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice since June 2010, focusing on the prosecution of felony and death penalty appeals in state appellate courts and handling habeas corpus petitions in various jurisdictions. Prior to this role, Charles worked as a Deputy City Attorney at the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office, prosecuting misdemeanor trials, and gained valuable legal experience as a judicial extern for the Hon. Dean D. Pregerson in the United States District Court, as well as as a legal extern with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Charles began the legal career as a law clerk in the Fraud and Identity Theft Division of the Los Angeles City Attorney's Office. Academic qualifications include a Juris Doctor from the University of California, Los Angeles, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and English Literature from the University of California, San Diego.
