Chris Hu

Chris Hu is an accomplished legal professional currently serving as Deputy Solicitor General at the California Department of Justice since November 2023. Prior to this role, Chris held positions as an Associate at Horvitz & Levy LLP from February 2019 to November 2023, and at Moskovitz Appellate Team from February 2018 to January 2019. Chris also worked as an Associate at Rosen Bien Galvan & Grunfeld LLP between October 2015 and February 2018, representing clients in civil rights, commercial litigation, criminal defense, and employment matters. Earlier experience includes serving as a law clerk for Justice Goodwin Liu at the Supreme Court of California and for Judge Kim McLane Wardlaw at the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
