Matthew Struhar

Matthew Struhar is a highly experienced legal professional currently serving as a Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice since July 2019. Prior to this role, Matthew worked as an Attorney at Stoel Rives LLP from June 2017 to July 2019 and as an Associate at Nixon Peabody LLP from September 2013 to June 2017. Earlier in Matthew's career, valuable experience was gained as a Clinical Student at the California Supreme Court Clinic at UC Davis School of Law, where assistance was provided in preparing briefs, and as a Summer Associate at Nixon Peabody. Additionally, Matthew held positions as a Research Assistant at UC Davis, contributing to a published article, and as a Summer Intern with the California Department of Justice. Early work experience includes serving as a Staff Assistant in the U.S. House of Representatives and an intern for a congressional campaign. Matthew holds a Doctor of Law (J.D.) from the University of California, Davis, and a Bachelor of Arts in History and Political Science from The Ohio State University.
