Namrata Kotwani

Namrata Kotwani is a highly experienced attorney with a diverse background in litigation, compliance, and regulatory matters. Currently serving as Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice since September 2020, Namrata previously held the position of Senior Associate at Seyfarth Shaw LLP, where responsibilities included prosecuting provider fraud and defending class actions for a significant Taft-Hartley employee benefit plan. Prior to this, Namrata gained experience at Crowell & Moring LLP in commercial litigation and white-collar regulatory enforcement, as well as internships at various legal organizations, including the Massachusetts Committee for Public Counsel Services and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office. An alumnus of Boston University School of Law with a JD, cum laude, and a Bachelor of Arts with Honors from Wesleyan University, Namrata has participated in pro bono activities including representing minors in asylum cases.
