Susana Aguilera

Susana Aguilera is a dedicated attorney currently serving as Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice in the Environmental Justice and Protection Section since May 2023. Prior experience includes roles as a Staff Attorney at the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program and an Associate at Burke, Williams & Sorensen, LLP. Susana has also gained valuable experience as a Judicial Extern for the Honorable Andrew Y.S. Cheng in the Complex Litigation Department of the Superior Court of California, County of San Francisco, and as a Senior Acquisitions Editor for the Hastings Environmental Law Journal. Additional roles include a Public Law Fellow at Renne Public Law Group and a Legal Extern in the Environment and Land Law Sections of the California Department of Justice. Susana holds a J.D. with a concentration in Environmental Law, magna cum laude, from the University of California, College of the Law, San Francisco, alongside a Master of Arts in Latin American Studies from UC San Diego and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from UCLA.
