Vanessa Morrison

Vanessa Morrison is a Supervising Deputy Attorney General at the California Department of Justice since October 2022, managing a team of attorneys and support staff in complex environmental litigation. Previously, Vanessa served as a Deputy Attorney General, focusing on the protection of California's environment and public health. From September 2012 to October 2022, Vanessa worked as a Deputy Attorney for the California Department of Transportation, overseeing legal matters related to transportation services. Additional experience includes leadership roles in the Environmental Law Committee of the San Diego County Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association San Diego Chapter, as well as positions as an associate attorney at Pettit Kohn Ingrassia & Lutz PC and Maxie Rheinheimer Stephens & Vrevich. Vanessa's legal foundation was established with a J.D. from the University of San Diego School of Law and a BA in Political Science from UC Santa Barbara.
