Joseph Chan

Joseph Chan, MD, FACEP, serves as the Emergency Department Medical Director at Adventist Health White Memorial Montebello since January 2018 and previously held similar leadership roles at Beverly Hospital, which recently transitioned to Adventist Health White Memorial. Under Joseph's leadership, the department received the 2022 Vituity Practice of the Year Award. Joseph has been with Vituity since July 2015, taking on various medical director roles and responsibilities within emergency medicine. Experience also includes serving as an Emergency Medicine Physician for the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and previously as Vice Chair of the Emergency Department at San Leandro Hospital. Joseph completed an emergency medicine residency at UCLA Health, where Joseph was honored with the Resident Teaching Award in 2015, and received the ACEP Teaching Fellowship. Academic qualifications include an MD from the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA and a Bachelor's of Science in Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics from UCLA.
