California Jazz Conservatory
Jeff Denson serves as Dean of Instruction and Full Professor at the California Jazz Conservatory since August 2011. Jeff is the President of Ridgeway Records and the Artistic Director of Ridgeway Arts, both roles since May 2015, focusing on promoting jazz music and cultural development. As a self-employed professional musician, Denson specializes in performance and composition across various musical genres. Educationally, Denson holds a Ph.D. in Contemporary Music with an Emphasis in Composition from UC San Diego and a Master's Degree in Jazz Studies from Florida State University, alongside a Bachelor's Degree in Music Performance from Berklee College of Music.
California Jazz Conservatory
The California Jazz Conservatory is a private music school in Berkeley, California. It is the only independent music conservatory in the United States devoted solely to jazz and related styles of music. Located in the Downtown Berkeley Arts District, the CJC offers Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Jazz Studies. The Conservatory also offers community education classes and workshops for instrumentalists and vocalists and precollege youth programs for beginning, intermediate and advanced musicians.
