Jairus Johnson

Jairus "Jay" Johnson, Ph.D., serves as the Dean of Instruction at East Mississippi Community College, a position held since August 2004, with prior roles including Associate Dean of Instruction, Division Chairperson for Mathematics and Science, and Interim Associate Dean of Instruction, as well as a Biological Sciences Instructor. Johnson's earlier experience includes a lecturer role in Biology at The University of West Alabama, complemented by positions as a graduate assistant, research assistant, and undergraduate lab assistant. Johnson holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Higher Education/Higher Education Administration from The University of Southern Mississippi, a Master of Arts degree in Biology from The University of West Alabama, and a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in Biology and a minor in Environmental Science from the same institution.
