Stephen Cutie is the Director of State Policy Analysis for California Life Sciences. He earned a Ph.D. in Bioengineering from UCSF and UC Berkeley, with a research focus on regenerative medicine and evolutionary biology. Stephen previously served as a CCST science fellow in the office of California Senate Health Chair, Senator Richard Pan — where he architected and staffed public health legislation, led administrative budget negotiations, authored committee policy analyses, voted on the CDPH Vital Statistics Advisory Committee, and performed diverse constituent services.
