Lucy Chang has a diverse and extensive work experience in the fields of science and education. Lucy has recently worked as a Curator of Life Sciences at the California Science Center starting from June 2023. Prior to that, they held positions at the National Geographic Society as a Senior Specialist and Specialist in Content and Research. Lucy also worked as a Part-Time Assistant Professor at Augustana College in the same year.
From 2019 to 2021, Lucy worked at the Royal Ontario Museum as a Contract Assistant Curator, contributing significantly to the development of a new permanent exhibition. Before that, they were involved with the Smithsonian Institution, Museum of Natural History as a Community Coordinator and as a Peter Buck Deep Time Postdoctoral Fellow.
Lucy's career started with a Graduate Research Fellowship at the National Science Foundation from 2012 to 2017. Lucy also gained teaching experience as a Graduate Student Instructor at the University of California, Berkeley. Additionally, they worked as a Geoheritage Education Specialist at the Geological Society of America.
Earlier in their career, Lucy served as an Assistant Web Developer at The University of Chicago Booth School of Business and held positions as a Digital Projects Assistant and Field Assistant at the University of Chicago.
Lucy Chang earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Geophysical Sciences from the University of Chicago in 2009. Lucy went on to pursue a PhD in Integrative Biology at the University of California, Berkeley, where they completed their education in 2017.
