Andreas Bill

Andreas Bill is a distinguished Professor of Physics and Chair of the Department of Physics & Astronomy at California State University, Long Beach, where service has continued since 2005. In addition to this role, Bill has contributed as a Visiting Professor at Laboratoire de Physique des Solides from September 2022 to July 2023 and at Instituto de Ciencia de Materiales de Madrid from October 2013 to July 2014. A former Chair of the Far West Section of the American Physical Society from January 2015 to December 2018, Bill's research career includes positions as a research scientist at the Paul Scherrer Institute and the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems, as well as a postdoctoral researcher at Lawrence Berkeley National Labs. Bill earned a Dr. rer. nat. in Physics from the University of Stuttgart and holds a Diploma in Physics from EPFL.
