Viva R. Horowitz is an Associate Professor of Physics at Hamilton College since July 2016, previously serving as an Assistant Professor in the same department. Currently, Viva is also a Visiting Faculty Researcher at the Air Force Research Lab through the Griffiss Institute, working with the Quantum Team during a sabbatical. Additionally, Viva holds the position of Courtesy Research Assistant Professor at the University of Oregon, collaborating with Benjamin Alemán on research involving quantum emitters in hexagonal boron nitride and graphene resonators. Previous experience includes a Postdoctoral Fellowship at Harvard University, focusing on active transport in living cells, and a Postdoctoral Scholar role at the California Institute of Technology, where Viva developed a vibrating structure gyroscope. Academic training includes a PhD and M.S. in Physics from UC Santa Barbara and a B.A. in Physics from Swarthmore College.
