Perla Ayala

Perla Ayala is an experienced academic and researcher in the field of biomedical engineering, currently serving as an Associate Professor at California State University, Long Beach since August 2016 after previously holding the position of Assistant Professor. Prior to this role, Perla Ayala was a Research Fellow at Harvard Medical School, the Wyss Institute for Biologically Inspired Engineering, and Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center from 2012 to 2016. Academic training includes a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Bioengineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and the University of California, San Francisco, completed between 2006 and 2011, as well as a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A.Sc.) in Chemical Engineering from the University of California, Riverside, obtained from 2002 to 2005. Additionally, Perla Ayala contributed as a Research Assistant at reputable institutions including the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Cornell University.
