Phil Tracton

Phil Tracton is a College Lecturer at California State University, Northridge, where responsibilities include teaching ECE 420 Digital System Design and 524 L FPGA Lab since August 2023. With extensive experience in the tech industry, Phil has served as a Principal IC Design Engineer at Medtronic since July 2002, working on projects such as digital IC development for the Synchromed II device and firmware development for a DARPA-funded prosthetic hand project. Phil also holds a position as an Instructor at UCLA Extension since September 2010, teaching various courses in embedded systems and Python programming. Prior experience includes roles as a Software Engineer at Zuma Networks and Teradyne, contributing to the development of embedded software and system diagnostics. Phil holds a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering from California State University, Northridge, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Maryland.
