Nicholas Callais

Nicholas P. Callais is a Managing Partner, the Chief Financial Officer, and the Chief Compliance Officer for Callais Capital. Nicholas is responsible for all finance and operations functions for Callais Capital including overseeing the firm’s accounting, compliance, finance, tax, operations, risk management, IT, and investor relation functions. Nick also assists portfolio companies with financial reporting and operations. He currently manages over 12 entities for the firm and helps oversee the family office investments.

Previously, Nicholas worked at United Community Bank in credit analysis and in several different political roles. He was previously the youngest elected official in Louisiana as Vice President on the Terrebonne Parish Republican Party Executive Committee and worked as a Regional Political Director in several campaigns on the federal, state, and local levels.

Nicholas is actively involved on the Board of portfolio companies and serves on the Board of the Louisiana Young Association for Corporate Growth, Tulane Association of Business Alumni as Alumni Engagement Chair, and is on the Eagle Scout Committee for the Southeast Louisiana Council for the Boy Scouts of America. Nicholas is a member of Leadership Louisiana Class of 2020, World Affairs Council of New Orleans, Business Angel Minority Association (baMa), and Houston Angel Network (HAN), Private Equity CFO Association, and the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA) CFO Task Force.

Nicholas received a B.A. in Philosophy with a concentration in Law, Morality, and Society and in Political Science with a concentration in Public Policy and Politics with a minor in Economics from Tulane University, where he was recognized with the Emerging Student Leader Award. Nicholas received an MBA - Finance from the A.B. Freeman School of Business at Tulane University. He was recently named New Orleans CityBusiness Moneymaker for 2022. Nicholas is a CFA Level II exam candidate, holds the FINRA Series 65, and is an Eagle Scout. Nicholas lives in New Orleans with his wife Abigail and their GoldenDoodle, Hurricane "Cane".
