Marvin Blake

Marvin Blake has extensive work experience in the field of technology and cybersecurity. Marvin is currently working as the Cybersecurity Watch Lead (CS Analyst IV) at HII Technical Solutions, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, where they are responsible for cybersecurity monitoring and reporting. Prior to this, Marvin held positions such as Cybersecurity OPS Analyst III at the same company and Watch System Administrator III at Alion Science and Technology. Marvin has also worked as a System Administrator IV at Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies and as a System Administrator II and I, as well as ADPE - Service Desk Administrator, at Vectrus. Marvin has a background in server administration and has previously worked at STG Inc. as a System Administrator - Servers - Intermediate. Marvin began their career in the technology field in the US Army, where they held various roles as a Senior Information Technology Specialist and Information Technology Specialist. Marvin also has experience working as a Technician - AV/Computer/Telephone at Bethel School District.

Marvin Blake started their education at Hickory High School, where they completed their high school education from 2001 to 2006. Afterward, they enrolled at Western Governors University in 2016 and is expected to complete their Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity and Information Assurance in 2023.

In addition to their formal education, Marvin has obtained several certifications. In December 2015, they earned the CompTIA Security+ ce certification. In April 2016, they obtained the CompTIA Project+ certification, followed by the Microsoft Certified Professional certification and MCTS: Windows Server 2008 Active Directory, Configuration certification in September 2016.

Continuing their certifications, Marvin achieved the CompTIA A+ ce certification in December 2016, the CompTIA Server+ certification in August 2017, and the BasicPlus CPR, AED, and First Aid for Adults certification in October 2017.

In June 2018, Marvin obtained the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Windows Server 2012 (MCSA: Server 2012) certification, and in October of the same year, they earned the Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate: Windows Server 2016 (MCSA: Server 2016) certification.

In November 2020, they obtained the ITIL Foundations Certification (ITIL) and later achieved the CompTIA Network+ ce certification in March 2021. In December 2022, Marvin obtained the Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification.

More recently, Marvin obtained the CompTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+) certification in May 2023, followed by the CompTIA PenTest+ certification in July 2023.
