Alvaro Escribano is a distinguished Professor in Economics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid since September 1989, where Alvaro also serves as the Director of the Carlos III International School, focusing on partnerships with international students and universities. Escribano has held multiple leadership positions, including Vice-Chancellor of International Relations, Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, and Vice-Dean of Economics at the same institution. Additionally, Escribano is a Board Member of the Autoridad Independiente de Responsabilidad Fiscal (AIReF), a member of the Think-Tank on Mobility at Fundación Corell, and serves on the Board of Directors at VIA CÍRCULO JEFFERSON. Escribano has editorial roles with Cambridge University Press & Assessment and De Gruyter and has contributed as a consultant for The World Bank and as a Visiting Professor at Georgetown University. Escribano holds a Ph.D. in Economics from UC San Diego and a Bachelor's Degree in Economics from Universidad Autónoma de Madrid.
