Jane Hayward has worked in the field of bioscience since 2013. Jane began their career as a Research and Development Scientist at The National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery, where they were involved in establishing Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) for diagnostic use. In 2014, they transitioned to a Research Associate position at the Institute of Child Health, UCL, where they designed and developed targeted NGS for genetic diagnosis in congenital eye defects and childhood blindness. In 2016, they moved to the Molecular Genetics Laboratory at Great Ormond Street Hospital, where they were a Translational Scientist, designing, developing and validating assays for prenatal genetic diagnosis. From 2017 to 2019, they worked as a Senior Bioscientist at AstraZeneca, and is currently employed as a Field Application Scientist at Nonacus Ltd.
Jane Hayward completed their education history with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Molecular Genetics from UCL from 2009 to 2013. Prior to that, they obtained a Master's Degree in MSc Molecular pathology and genomics at Bart's Cancer Institute from Queen Mary University of London from 2008 to 2009. Jane began their education journey with a Bachelor's Degree in BSc (Hons) Biomedical Sciences from London Metropolitan University from 2004 to 2008.
