Patrick Bisson

Research Scientist I at Cambridge Polymer

Patrick Bisson has worked in a variety of roles since 2006. Patrick began as a Post Doctoral Fellow at Tufts University, where they conducted research on the chemistry and physics of ice and surfaces. Patrick also worked as a Visiting Scientist at both Tufts University's Department of Chemistry and University of Massachusetts Lowell. In 2013, they were a Post Doctoral Fellow at Dartmouth College, focusing on mechanical properties of polycrystalline ice under hydrostatic pressure. In 2016, they were a Visiting Scientist at the Max Planck Institute for Polymer Research. Since 2020, they have been a Research Scientist I at Cambridge Polymer Group, where their responsibilities include physical chemistry, electrical engineering, scientific instrument design and construction, materials science, LabVIEW, Solidworks, additive manufacturing, machine shop, IR Spectroscopy, UV-Vis Spectroscopy, Mass spectroscopy, Sum Frequency Generation vibrational spectroscopy, Lasers, Optics, nonlinear optics, control systems, and IT systems.

Patrick Bisson has a diverse educational background. Patrick earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst in 1983, and a Bachelor's degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the same institution in 1979. Patrick then earned a Bachelor of Science (BS) in Physical Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts Lowell in 2006, followed by a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Chemistry from Tufts University in 2013.
