Verna Holcomb has a diverse work experience spanning multiple roles and companies. Verna currently serves as the Manager of Technology Communications and Training at CampusWorks, Inc. since February 2022. Prior to this, they worked at Drew University for many years, starting as an Administrative Assistant in June 2006 and moving up to Technology Coordinator, Training Coordinator, and finally Manager of Technology Communications and Training. At Drew University, they played a significant role in streamlining budget-related processes, coordinating meetings, and training staff in new software systems. Verna also worked as a Scheduling Coordinator for the Drew 360 Project from September 2010 to September 2012. Before their time at Drew University, they worked as a Community Living Specialist at AdvoServ, where they provided essential care and support to developmentally-disabled adults.

Verna Holcomb attended Drew University from 2002 to 2006, where they obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies and German. Verna also received a Bachelor of Arts degree during the same period, majoring in Religious Studies and German as well. In addition to their formal education, Verna has obtained certifications in Badging and Employer Engagement from EDUCAUSE in June 2018 and in Efficient Time Management from LinkedIn in October 2016.
