Virlika Prayer has extensive work experience in various roles related to programming, database management, and business intelligence. Virlika began their career as a Math and Computer Science Tutor at Norfolk State University's School of Science and Technology in 2004. Virlika then worked as a Student Researcher at East Carolina University in 2005. In 2006, they gained experience as a Programming Analyst Intern at Rural Sourcing, Inc and as a Software Configuration Management Contractor at Misys Healthcare. Virlika joined Spatial Integrated Systems as a Junior Computer Programmer in 2007, where they wrote computer programs and performed administration tasks. From 2008 to 2013, Virlika worked at East Carolina University, first as a Business Intelligence Developer and Business Technician, where they designed, tested, and debugged business intelligence solutions using SSRS technologies and PLSQL/TSQL. Later, they became an EPIC Clarity Report Writer and Technical Analyst, leading reports analysis and development using EPIC Clarity. In 2013, they joined Vidant Health as an EPIC ETL Administrator and Systems Engineer, responsible for ensuring data integrity and performing upgrades. Virlika returned to East Carolina University in 2014 as an Ellucian Student Banner Programmer, responsible for programming and maintaining the Student Module in Ellucian Banner. Virlika also worked as a Banner Programmer in the same module. In 2021, Virlika worked at Brown University as a Lead Banner Programmer, and in 2022, they joined CampusWorks, Inc. as a Banner Programmer. Throughout their career, they have demonstrated proficiency in various programming languages and technologies and has gained experience in data analysis and reporting.

Virlika Prayer attended Norfolk State University from 2002 to 2004 and studied Computer Science. They then transferred to East Carolina University in 2005, where they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science with a concentration in Math, completing it in 2006.
