Andrew Willis

Andrew Willis has a diverse work experience in the energy industry spanning over several companies. Andrew began their career at Amoco (UK) Exploration as a Geologist before moving on to Union Pacific Resources Inc. (UPRI) as an Exploration Geologist. Andrew then worked at Home Oil as a Geologist for a brief period before joining Total Canada (later Rigel Energy) as a Senior Geologist International, where they focused on business development in the UK North Sea and onshore Northern Ireland.

Andrew'snext position was as a Senior Geologist International at Talisman Energy, where they worked on basin analysis, play fairway mapping, and farmin opportunity review in West Africa and offshore Trinidad. Andrew'swork included involvement in the Angostura Field appraisal and development.

Following their time at Talisman Energy, Andrew joined Suncor Energy as a team leader and senior staff Geologist. Andrew led a multi-disciplinary team to evaluate entry strategies into various southern U.S. shale gas plays and was also involved in frontier exploration projects in Alaska.

Most recently, Andrew worked at Canacol Energy Ltd, where they started as a Chief Geologist and progressed to Exploration Manager. In this role, they managed a team responsible for corporate new ventures, exploration, appraisal, and development activities across South America.

Throughout their career, Andrew has demonstrated expertise in various aspects of geology, including fieldwork, prospect inventory generation, reservoir evaluation, and project management.

Andrew Willis earned a Bachelor of Science (Hons) ARSM degree in Geology from Imperial College London from 1985 to 1988. Andrew then pursued a Master of Science (M.Sc.) in Geology from the University of Alberta, completing their studies from 1989 to 1992. Andrew furthered their education at the University of Toronto, obtaining a Ph.D. in Geology between the years 1993 and 1997. Andrew'seducation focused on the field of Geology.
