Björn Schmolck

Björn Schmolck has extensive work experience in the insurance and reinsurance industry. Björn is currently the Head of Structured Reinsurance (Europe) at Canada Life Reinsurance since September 2018. Prior to this, Björn held the position of Head of Reinsurance at Just Group plc from September 2016 to August 2018. Björn also served as the Head of Longevity Risk at Just Group plc from March 2014 to September 2016. Before joining Just Group plc, Björn worked as a Consultant at IRISC Advisory from April 2013 to March 2014. Björn was also the Principal and Investment Advisor at Traymar Capital from August 2009 to April 2013. Björn started their career at ABN AMRO as the Executive Director - Insurance Solutions from August 2004 to February 2009. Prior to that, they worked at Swiss Re as the Vice President - Senior Structurer from August 1999 to July 2004.

Björn Schmolck earned their PhD in Econometrics from the University of Fribourg in 1999.
