Erin Terwissen

National Senior Manager, Community Giving at Canadian Mental Health

Erin Terwissen is the National Senior Manager of Community Giving at Canadian Mental Health. Erin has dedicated their career to advancing inclusion across Canada and has worked tirelessly to increase awareness and support for community living initiatives.

Erin began their career at the Canadian Association For Community Living (CACL) in 2011 as a Senior Development Officer. In this role, they managed all aspects of an integrated development and communications strategy, including Annual Giving, Special and Major Gifts, Planned Giving, Stewardship and prospect engagement. As part of the senior team, Erin collaborated on organizational strategy, priorities and objectives, guided communications efforts, and shaped organizational culture.

In their time at CACL, Erin made significant contributions to the organization. Erin developed a new comprehensive multi-channel Annual Giving campaign that increased net revenue by 400%. Erin also created a new national Planned Giving program that is being carried out in partnership with local and provincial/territorial member associations across Canada. This program has been successful in engaging donors and increasing support for community living initiatives.

In addition to their work at CACL, Erin has also been instrumental in developing institutional giving strategies, conducting prospect research, writing proposals, and stewardship activities. These efforts have resulted in increased support for community living initiatives from a variety of sources.

Erin is a passionate advocate for community living initiatives and has made a lasting impact on the organizations they have worked with. Her dedication to their work has resulted in improved outcomes for those they serve.

Erin Terwissen has a Postgraduate Program in Fundraising and Volunteer Management from Humber College. Erin also has an Honours BA in English Literature and Drama from the University of Toronto - Victoria University. Lastly, they have a Bachelor of Arts - BA in English and Drama from the University of Toronto.
