Rebekah Sears is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy analysis, government relations, and advocacy in the non-profit sector. Currently serving as the National Lived Experience Specialist at the Canadian Mental Health Association since May 2023, Rebekah brings the voices of individuals with lived experience of mental illness and substance use to the organization's planning and decision-making processes. Previously, from December 2010 to April 2023, Rebekah worked with the Mennonite Central Committee, transitioning from a Policy Educator and Advocacy Worker in Colombia to a Policy Analyst and ultimately a Government Relations Specialist, where they built expertise in policy communication and stakeholder engagement. Rebekah's career also includes roles as a Policy Intern at Citizens for Public Justice, a Research Assistant in the Senate of Canada, and an International Intern with African Enterprise in Rwanda. Rebekah holds a Master's Degree in International Relations from the Norman Paterson School of International Affairs and a Bachelor's Degree in Modern European and World History from the University of New Brunswick.
