Steve Guthrie

Steve Guthrie, CFA, currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors for the Canadian Council for the Americas since 2023. With over two decades of experience at Scotiabank, Steve held various senior roles including Senior Vice President and Head of International Business Banking, overseeing operations across 15 countries in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. Responsibilities included managing Commercial Banking, Corporate & Investment Banking, and Capital Markets. Additional positions at Scotiabank included the roles of Senior Vice President for Business Banking in Chile, Regional Head for Business Banking in Central America, and Vice President of Corporate Finance for Latin America. Prior to Scotiabank, Steve served on the Shareholder’s Committee at Scotiabank Colpatria and was a Board Member for the Chilean-Canadian Chamber of Commerce. Steve began a career at TD, gaining experience in Canadian Commercial Banking and Corporate & Investment Banking. Steve holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Finance from Queen's University.
