Greg Thome

Before joining Canapi, Greg was an associate at Propel Venture Partners, an early-stage venture fund based in San Francisco. While at Propel, Greg evaluated fintech opportunities globally and invested in a wide range of sectors including payments, commerce, marketplace technologies and financial infrastructure. He worked directly on Propel’s investments in Conekta, DataSine, Huddl, Grabango and Groww.

Greg began his career as an analyst with Mizuho Securities, where he helped expand the firm’s technology investment banking practice. At Mizuho, he focused on M&A and strategic capital raises for fintech, internet and software companies.

Greg Thome holds a Bachelor of Arts in economics from the University of Chicago, where he was also a starting member of the varsity football team. In his free time, Greg enjoys spending time outdoors with his friends. He is an avid skier, an advanced open water SCUBA diver and a certified Reef Check EcoDiver.
