Nurys Z Camargo, MPA, is a seasoned professional with extensive experience in policy development, community engagement, and external affairs. Currently serving as a Commissioner for the Cannabis Control Commission since January 2021, Nurys previously held the position of Regional Director of External Affairs at AT&T from 2013 to January 2021, where strategic stakeholder engagement and corporate social responsibility initiatives were key responsibilities. Prior to that, Nurys was a Senior Policy Advisor and Program Director for the Safe & Successful Youth Initiative at the Executive Office of Public Safety and Security from 2011 to 2014, managing significant criminal justice and community intervention programs. Additional roles included Deputy Campaign Manager for the Deval Patrick Campaign and various positions in community relations and advocacy within the Suffolk County District Attorney's Office. Nurys holds a Master's in Public Administration from Baruch College and a Bachelor's in Criminal Justice from Mount Ida College, alongside completing a Corporate Executive Development Program at SMU Cox School of Business.
