Gordon Farquharson

VP Of Sensor Systems at Capella Space

Gordon Farquharson has extensive work experience in various engineering roles. Gordon started their career as a Research Assistant at the University of Cape Town in 1997 and then moved on to work as a Research Assistant at the University of Massachusetts Amherst from 1999 to 2004. Gordon then worked as an Engineer at the National Center for Atmospheric Research from 2004 to 2009. After that, they joined the Applied Physics Laboratory - University of Washington as a Principal Engineer from 2009 to 2017. Currently, they hold the positions of Director of Radar Systems and VP of Sensor Systems at Capella Space, starting in 2017 and 2021 respectively.

Gordon Farquharson obtained a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where they studied from 1999 to 2004. Prior to that, they pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Cape Town, from 1997 to 1999. Gordon also completed their Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Cape Town, studying from 1993 to 1996. Gordon Farquharson completed their secondary education at Diocesan College from 1988 to 1992.
