Power Engineer at Capital Power

Jordan Gartner has a range of work experiences in the power engineering field. They started their career in 2009 as a Practicum Student at Alberta Hospital Edmonton, where they monitored and maintained plant equipment and conducted water treatment and testing. During this time, they also created Microsoft Visio drawings for plant equipment documentation.

In 2010, Jordan joined Bunge North America as a Power Engineer, where they operated a canola oil processing plant and managed the load out of various canola oils and byproducts.

Later in 2010, Jordan moved to Capital Power as a Power Engineer, responsible for the safe and reliable operation of turbine generator, boiler, and auxiliary equipment. They received comprehensive training in all areas of the Genesee units and actively participated in safety procedures and day-to-day operations, including water treatment and monitoring.

Jordan Gartner began their education at Eastglen Composite High School, where they obtained their High School Diploma between 1997 and 2000. Following their high school education, they enrolled at NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) from 2008 to 2010. During this time, they pursued a degree in Power Engineering Technology and successfully completed their Power Engineering Technology Diploma. In addition to their formal education, Jordan Gartner obtained a Second Class Power Engineering Certificate from the Alberta Boilers Safety Association in June 2009.
