Kim Ogilvie

Director Corporate Strategy at Capital Power

Kim Ogilvie has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. Kim started their career at Inverness Petroleum as a Technician from an unknown date until 1994. Kim then worked as a Stream Conservation Coordinator at the City of Abbotsford from August 1997 to November 1999. Afterwards, they joined Fisheries and Oceans Canada, where they held various positions including Community Engagement and Stewardship Coordinator from November 1999 to April 2004, Senior Advisor for Regulatory Compliance Modernization from April 2004 to March 2005, and finally Manager of Area Operations from April 2005 to March 2013. Simultaneously, Kim worked briefly as an Environmental Officer at Transport Canada from April 2001 to August 2002. From April 2013 to July 2013, they were a Leader in Business Services for Environment and Safety Management at the City of Calgary. Kim then transitioned to TC Energy, where they worked as Manager of Canadian Environmental Planning and Permitting from July 2013 to June 2020. Following their time at TC Energy, Kim served as the Vice President of Strategy and Corporate Development at H3M Environmental Ltd. From January 2021 to August 2022. Currently, they are working as the Director of Corporate Strategy at Capital Power, starting in October 2022.

Kim Ogilvie attended the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology from 1989 to 1991, where they obtained a Diploma in Mass Communication/Media Studies. Kim then pursued higher education at Royal Roads University from 1996 to 1998, earning a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) in Environmental Science.
