Nathan Dafoe has a diverse work experience in various industries. Nathan started their career as a Digital Template Technician at FLOFORM Countertops from 2010 to 2014. Then, they had student practicums as a 3rd and 4th Class Power Engineering Practicum at Husky Energy in 2015, where they gained experience in water treatment for boilers and operation of a 220 MW Gas/Steam electrical generation plant. Nathan later worked as a Water & Wastewater Practicum Student at NOVA Chemicals in 2019, where they performed regular operational duties and worked with water and wastewater treatment processes. From 2016 to 2020, Nathan returned to FLOFORM Countertops as a Digital Template Technician, responsible for measuring and resolving customer concerns. In 2020, they joined the City of Calgary as a Plant Operator 1 - WWTP, assisting in commissioning a 10 MW cogeneration biogas power plant. Currently, Nathan is working as a Power Engineer at Capital Power, where they are involved in the conversion from coal to natural gas and brings previous experience in commissioning and operation of power plants.

Nathan Dafoe's education history includes completing a Diploma in Power Engineering, 3rd Class from Lakeland College Canada from 2014 to 2016. Later, from 2018 to 2019, they attended NAIT (Northern Alberta Institute of Technology) to become a Water & Wastewater Technician. Along with their education, they have obtained several additional certifications, including ESTS CSA Z462 Arc Flash & Shock and Transportation of Dangerous Goods Regulations from Danatec in December 2022, Wastewater Treatment Operator Level 1 from Alberta Environment and Parks in March 2021, 3rd Class Power Engineer's Certificate of Competency from Alberta Boilers Safety Association in May 2015, and CSTS-09 from Alberta Construction Safety Association in March 2013.
