Selam W.

Selam W. is an experienced professional with a diverse background in marketing, storytelling, and public relations. Currently serving as a Storyteller for the Mutual Aid Society since April 2020, Selamawit leads a multimedia storytelling project that emphasizes public participation through Instagram. Prior to this role, Selam W. has held various positions at Capitol Petroleum Group, LLC, first as a Retail Administration Assistant from July 2008 to June 2011 and currently as the Director of Marketing and Public Relations since January 2012. Selam W. also gained experience as an Office Assistant at George Washington University’s Graduate Museum Studies Program and as an intern at the Peace Corps-American Diversity Program. Educational accomplishments include a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs with a focus on International Development Studies and Spanish Language and Literature from The George Washington University, along with studies at Universidad Latina de Costa Rica, The Stella Adler Studio of Acting, Northern Virginia Community College, and CAP21.
