Senior Associate, Barrister at Capsticks

Before joining Capsticks, Sophie practised at the independent bar in criminal and regulatory work, acting for both prosecution and defence.

As well as all areas of criminal defence and prosecution work – including dishonesty, violence, fraud, drug and sexual offences - Sophie developed a strong regulatory practice, being instructed on behalf of both registrants and regulators. Sophie has been instructed on matters before many regulators including the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) and General Medical Council (GMC).

Sophie is a Senior Associate, Barrister and has significant experience in dealing with legally and factually complex cases, including those concerning vulnerable witnesses, sexual offences, complex technical, scientific and/or medical evidence and multiple respondents.

Sophie specialises in the preparation and presentation of cases on behalf of Social Work England and has appeared for the regulator in a broad range of matters, including applications in the High Court.
