Jessica D. has a diverse work experience, starting in 2014 as the Music Director/Coordinator for CFXU. From 2015 to 2018, they worked as a Voice Instructor for an independent business. In 2018, they briefly served as a Partnership Coordinator for the Halifax Pop Explosion Music Festival and Conference. In 2019, they held multiple roles, including On Site Operational Support at Ticketpro, Jazz Ensemble Instructor/Voice Instructor at The Halifax Music Co-Op, Administrative Coordinator/Registration & Box Office at the East Coast Music Association, and Project Coordinator and later Membership Manager at the same organization. Since 2021, Jessica has been working at Carbide (formerly Securicy) in various roles, such as Executive Assistant to the Chief Executive Officer, Manager of the Office of the CEO & Special Projects, and currently as a Customer Success Manager.

Jessica D. began their education in 2012 at St. Francis Xavier University, where they pursued a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz/Jazz Studies. Jessica completed this program in 2016. In the following year, Jessica returned to St. Francis Xavier University for non-degree studies in Statistics, Biology, and Chemistry.

In 2018, they attended Humber College and obtained a Graduate Certificate in Music Business by the end of 2019. Moving forward, Jessica enrolled at the University of Fredericton in 2020 to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree with a specialization in Innovation Leadership. Jessica is expected to complete their MBA program in 2024.

In terms of additional certifications, Jessica obtained Naloxone & Overdose Training from Direction 180 in October 2019. Jessica also received certifications in NLS Pool, Standard First Aid and CPR-C, and NLS Beach from the Nova Scotia Lifesaving Society in April 2017 and June 2016, respectively. Jessica's education history also includes certifications in AED & Oxygen Administration and PADI Scuba Diving, although specific dates of completion are not available for these two certifications.
