Patrick Wilhelm has a diverse work experience, starting with an apprenticeship at Roche from August 2000 to July 2003. Patrick then pursued their academic career, earning a PhD in the Group of Prof. Dr. H. Wennemers at the University of Basel from June 2011 to December 2011, followed by a PhD in the same group at ETH Zürich from December 2011 to January 2016. Patrick then worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher with Prof. Paul F. Alewood at The University of Queensland from April 2016 to March 2018. Patrick joined Bachem in May 2018 as a Project Chemist in R&D, and eventually became a Group Leader in R&D from December 2018 to June 2022. Currently, they are a Project Manager for Commercial Products at CARBOGEN AMCIS starting in July 2022.

Patrick earned their Master of Science (M.Sc.) degree in Chemistry from the University of Basel, where they studied from 2009 to 2011. Prior to that, they completed their Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Chemistry at the University of Applied Sciences and Arts Northwestern Switzerland FHNW from 2005 to 2008.
In addition to their formal education, Patrick Wilhelm has obtained certifications to enhance their skills and knowledge. Patrick obtained the Project Management Professional (PMP) certification from the Project Management Institute in January 2022. In September 2019, they completed the BACHEM Leadership Seminar offered by TopConcept GmbH.
