With a patented modular open systems architecture, our DAC platform allows for plug-and-play upgrades, mass production, unlimited scalability, and rapid technology iterations.

We are looking for an experienced Buyer to join our Supply Chain team and be primarily responsible for the ongoing procurement and negotiation of materials, components, equipment, supplies and services. This individual will assume full responsibility for planning requirements and supply chain management to ensure timely deliveries of goods and services within budget and/or standard costs, working closely with product engineering, systems, and project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Determine material requirements from Engineering and R&D schedules and coordinate the efficient movement of materials through fabrication cycle.
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor goods and services to meet the production requirements of the company employing such techniques but not limited to JIT, Kanban, Blanket POs, and EOQ.
  • Procure materials components, equipment, supplies, and services necessary for the operation of the company.
  • Work with Receiving, Finance, and suppliers to reconcile discrepancies in receiving and invoicing.
  • Develop, implement and support sourcing and supplier management initiatives.
  • Negotiate pricing, delivery, lead-time, etc., with suppliers and other teams.
  • Take on special assignments as needed to mature the department function.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of material buying and planning in a manufacturing setting.
  • Experience in supply chain management and inventory control.
  • Demonstrated negotiation skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills; ability to communicate with technical and non-technical teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with internal and external partners.
  • Experience with direct and indirect material planning and procurement management.

Desired Background

  • BS in Supply Chain/Operations, equivalent, certification, or relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of high-volume manufacturing and large-scale part sourcing/procurement.
  • Experience working with instrumentation and controls, and materials lab teams.
  • Strong technical writing, communication, and organizational skills; effective in multidisciplinary teams.
  • Adaptable to start-up environments; capable of independent task development and problem-solving.
  • Highly motivated self-starter, able to work under ambiguity and balance multiple priorities.
