Thomas Cardwell

Thomas Cardwell has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Thomas is currently a Software Engineer II at Card Kingdom since September 2022. Prior to that, they worked as a Board Game Designer at TomCardGames starting in July 2020. Thomas also has experience in software engineering and management roles at Care.com, where they served as a Senior Software Engineer from January 2021 to April 2022, and later as a Software Engineering Manager from January 2022 to September 2022. Additionally, Thomas worked as a Software Engineer II at Compass from August 2019 to January 2021, focusing on Java and Go microservices, Kafka pipelines, and React applications. Thomas has also worked as a Software Engineer II at Vrbo (formerly HomeAway) from April 2019 to August 2019 and as a Software Engineer at HomeAway from June 2017 to February 2019, where they worked on customer-facing web pages and Java and GraphQL orchestration layers. Prior to their software engineering career, Thomas co-founded InfiniD Music, a production company, where they served as a Lead Producer responsible for recording and producing music for local artists and organizations. Thomas has also worked as a Live Sound Engineer at Brass House, where they managed live sound for jazz and blues performances. Thomas has previous experience working as a Computer Science Tutor for student athletes at the University of Texas at Austin and as a Store Systems Software Intern at HEB, where they worked on research and development projects and web applications.

Thomas Cardwell attended The University of Texas at Austin from 2012 to 2017. Thomas pursued two bachelor's degrees during this time. Thomas completed a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Computer Science, specializing in the Turing Scholar's Honors Program. Additionally, they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Music Production.
