John Wright

John Wright has extensive work experience in the legal and regulatory fields. John is currently working as a Senior Legal Counsel at the Cardano Foundation since June 2022. Prior to this, they were a Member at Blockchain Ireland since June 2019, and a Lecturer at the Law Society of Ireland from 2019 onwards.

Before their current roles, John worked at Euronext Dublin from June 2016 to June 2022, where they focused on regulation. John served as the Chairman of the Unmanned Aircraft Association of Ireland from December 2015 to March 2017. John also worked as a Legal professional at Arthur Cox from October 2012 to May 2016.

One of John's notable projects was at the Central Bank of Ireland, where they co-managed a project on the revision of the Irish client asset supervision regime. John played a key role in revising industry regulatory requirements and implementing internal processes and procedures to create a risk-based supervisory system. The project concluded with the publication of a report and the issuance of a consultation paper on Client Asset Regulations and Guidance.

Early in their career, John worked as a Listing Executive at the Irish Stock Exchange - Debt Listing from August 2006 to December 2011.

John earned their bachelor's degree, a BA in Politics and History, from University College Dublin between 2000 and 2003. Lastly, in 2017, John attended the Irish Management Institute again to pursue a degree in Strategy and Innovation. In addition to their formal education, John obtained a certification in "Foundations of Blockchain with Overview of Cardano" from EMURGO Academy in March 2023.
