Wouter Poortinga

Wouter Poortinga is a highly experienced academic in the field of Environmental Psychology, currently serving as a Professor and Reader at Cardiff University since January 2006. Previously, Wouter held the position of Senior Lecturer and was an RCUK Academic Fellow focusing on Health and Risk Communication. Wouter's academic leadership extended to the role of Director of Research at the Welsh School of Architecture from January 2014 to January 2015. Prior to Cardiff University, Wouter contributed as a Senior Research Associate at the University of East Anglia under the Leverhulme Trust Understanding Risk Programme and worked as a Researcher at Rijksuniversiteit Groningen studying Household Energy Use. Wouter Poortinga earned a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Environmental Science from the School of Environmental Sciences between 2002 and 2004 and a Master of Science (MSc) in Social and Organisational Psychology from the University of Groningen from 1990 to 1997.
